Agriculture in the Classroom Lessons
As part of the Calhoun County Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee, members offer approximately 45 minute lessons to area classrooms, Kindergarten through fourth grade. Lessons include:
- First Grade: learning about the different types of seeds (Kindergarten); studying about the many fruits of Michigan
- Second Grade: teaching students about the many products and by-products that come from agriculture, specifically cows, honey bees, and chickens
- Third Grade: sharing how farmers care for the land, environment, animals, and consumer
- Fourth Grade: educating about the entire process from farm to table while considering where a taco comes from
